CROCK POT APPLE CRISP

A delicious dessert that can be prepared in a slow cooker, perfect to surprise guests or family. The advantage is its simple preparation and very tasty result. apples and oatmeal filling are simply the best combination.

Ingridients

  • 6 small apples, peeled, cut into 1/2-inch slices (6 cups)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Topping

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into 8 pieces
  • Ice cream, if desired

Method

Step 1. In a big bowl, toss together the apples, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, and cinnamon until the apples are nicely coated.

Step 2. Give a 4- to 5-quart slow cooker a quick spritz with cooking spray. Now, transfer the apple mixture into the slow cooker

Step 3. In a big bowl, mix 1/2 cup flour, oats, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir it up. Cut in cold butter with a fork or pastry blender until it’s all crumbly. Sprinkle this goodness over the apples in the slow cooker. Cover it up and let it cook on High heat for 2 hours. After that, kill the heat, take off the lid, and let it chill for 30 minutes.

Step 4. Serve it up warm and throw a scoop of your favorite ice cream on there.
